TP4056-MS Power Management Chip with Programmable Charging Current up to 1000mA, Battery Temperature Monitoring, and Polarity Reversal Protection

TP4056-MS is a complete single-cell lithium-ion battery constant current/constant voltage linear charger with polarity reversal protection for the battery positive and negative terminals. Its SOP-8-EP package with a heat sink on the bottom and a reduced number of external components makes TP4056-MS an ideal choice for portable applications. TP4056-MS can operate with USB power supply and adapter power supply. It adopts an internal PMOSFET architecture, with an anti-reverse charging circuit, and does not require an external isolation diode. The thermal feedback can adaptively adjust the charging current to limit the chip temperature under high power operation or high ambient temperature conditions. The full charge cut-off voltage is 4.2V, and the charging current can be externally set through a resistor. When the charging current drops to 1/10 of the set value after reaching the final floating charging voltage, TP4056D will automatically terminate the charging cycle. When the input voltage drops, TP4056-MS automatically enters a low current state and reduces the battery leakage current to below 0.2uA. Other features of TP4056-MS include power adaptation, battery temperature detection, under-voltage lockout, automatic recharging, and two LED status pins for indicating charging and completion.
