TLE 5205-2 is an integrated power H-bridge with a DMOS output stage for driving DC motor. This component is manufactured using Infineon's multi-technology SPT® process which enables bipolar and CMOS control circuits as well as DMOS power devices to exist on the same single-piece structure.

The operation modes include forward rotation (clockwise), reverse rotation (counterclockwise), braking and high impedance. It can be invoked with just two control pins compatible with TTL/CMOS. The extremely low RDS ON is combined with the power IC package that uses low thermal resistance, and high heat capacity helps to minimize system power consumption.

At the power source cut-off capacitor, it is the only external circuit due to the integrated freewheeling diode.

The control input consists of TTL/CMOS-compatible Schmidt flip-flops with hysteresis. The buffer amplifier is driven by this stage.

The output stage is composed of DMOS H-bridges. Integrated circuit protection output protects against short-circuit damage to ground and power supply voltage. Positive and negative voltage peaks are integrated when switching the inductive load freewheeling diode limitation.

Each output transistor has a monitoring circuit to detect whether the transistor is in an active state and prevent the corresponding source transistor (sink transistor) in this case.
